About the Role

The Foreman Electrician works under the guidance of a senior level Foreman or Superintendent and will oversee the direct work of a crew of Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman electricians. This role involves performing installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems while leading, training, and mentoring their crew.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
  • Work alongside crew, ensuring quality standards.
  • Assist in developing effective manpower schedules.
  • Develop and communicate material lists based on layouts and job site demands.
  • Achieve production and budget goals through effective team communication.
  • Ensure all crew work complies with local and NEC guidelines.
  • Independently install electrical conduit using various tools.
  • Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, and conductors.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuitry.
  • Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Lay out small work areas from electrical drawings and project documents.
  • Determine correct wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in electrical construction (commercial/industrial).
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and desire for growth.
  • Capable of leading, mentoring, and coaching teams of approximately five electricians.
  • Exhibits thorough understanding of assigned work scope and recognizes out-of-scope work.
  • Demonstrates basic skills in communicating with other trades and negotiating work assignments.
  • Shows aptitude and willingness to learn to read blueprints and contract documents of other trades.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of customer relationships and satisfaction.
  • Possesses intermediate understanding of developing, reading, and following construction schedules.
  • Able to learn and comprehend BlueBeam, Navisworks, and related programs for project plans.
  • Actively participates in leadership training.
  • Demonstrates above-average leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Equipped with all tools required by company policy and able to use them.
  • Demonstrates the Amteck Way in daily work, behavior, and decision-making.
  • Able to work project schedules, including weekends and overtime.
  • Has interest and aptitude to learn job-related material through oral instruction and observation.
  • Demonstrates a team-player mentality.
  • Possesses basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical ability, and ability to learn basic construction documents.
  • Willingness to participate in field training (OJT, classroom, or virtual).
