About the Role
Wiley's Comprehensive Editorial Evaluation Team (CEET) is expanding and seeking an Assistant Editor to manage the peer-review process and editorial decision-making for over 120 in-house journals across physical, life, and health sciences.
Responsibilities
- Manage the peer-review process and editorial decision-making from submission to acceptance.
- Evaluate and triage submitted manuscripts.
- Select appropriate reviewers.
- Assess reviewer reports and revised submissions.
- Make final acceptance or referral decisions.
- Collaborate with international colleagues as part of a global editorial team.
- Interact with authors and reviewers worldwide.
- Acquire new content by commissioning invited articles and planning special issues.
- Participate in workflow optimization project workgroups.
- Gain on-the-job experience in scholarly publishing.
Requirements
- A PhD degree in biomaterials, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, or a closely related field.
- A passion for science and its communication.
- Willingness to broaden knowledge across a spectrum of research areas.
- Self-motivated, diplomatic, and flexible.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
- Ability to collaborate efficiently with diverse global teams.
