About the Role
As a Tax Senior Manager focused on Real Estate for the San Francisco area, you will be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market clients. You will work with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, impacting the firm's success. You will also mentor and coach staff, developing their technical and professional skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services to real estate specific clients.
- Serve as a tax business advisor and lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters.
- Consult on technical matters and special projects in partnership taxation, accounting methods, and other areas.
- Research tax matters, respond to IRS and tax authority inquiries, and make client recommendations.
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high net worth, international, R&D, credits, and incentives.
- Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability.
- Network and build internal and external relationships to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
- Invest in professional development through individual learning and firm-wide programs.
- Support team member growth and development through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Participate in social activities and team outings that encourage work-life balance.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services.
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to see the "big picture" as well as the details.
- Display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment.
- Exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely project completion.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
