About the Role
Insource's Data Solutions team builds AI-powered products for mission-driven organizations. You'll work directly with users to understand their needs, define product requirements, and own the solution from discovery through delivery, tackling diverse problems in various domains.
Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery with users and stakeholders across diverse sectors to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs.
- Produce clear, scoped requirements that engineers can estimate and build against.
- Own the full requirements lifecycle from initial user interviews through prioritized backlogs.
- Match the rigor of documentation to the engagement, knowing when a lightweight prototype or detailed spec is needed.
- Iterate on language model prompts to achieve desired user interactions.
- Help clients roll out products to their teams and users, collecting feedback and pivoting as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers on solution feasibility within client budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with designers to translate requirements into intuitive interfaces.
- Consider how LLMs are changing user interaction patterns and enabling new solutions.
- Contribute to proposals and scoping for new engagements, estimating discovery and requirements gathering work.
- Develop trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for follow-on projects.
- Collaborate with the core team and other Insource practices to share knowledge.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience running user interviews and turning them into structured requirements (PRDs, user stories, functional specs).
- Comfort constructing detailed language model prompts for production systems.
- Demonstrated curiosity for language model capabilities and willingness to dive into proofs of concept.
- Sufficient technical fluency for productive conversations with engineers about feasibility and tradeoffs.
- Experience working with mission-driven organizations and understanding their unique needs and challenges, or ability to quickly learn new industries.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
- Ability to work US Eastern hours.

- Initiative to self-educate on client business, products, and services.
