About the Role

The In-Store VIC Manager is responsible for clienteling excellence within an Alaïa boutique, translating HQ strategies into personalized client journeys and empowering the retail team to develop client relationships. The role focuses on executing depth within the store's primary territory.

Responsibilities

  • Own the store's VIC and High-End client portfolio, including mapping tier distribution, identifying potential, and maintaining action plans.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with the boutique's most important clients, serving as the primary Alaïa contact.
  • Identify and qualify prospective Couture clients in collaboration with the Store Director and global teams.
  • Support team outreach for the full client pyramid, ensuring meaningful client touchpoints.
  • Recruit new high-potential clients through networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Leverage clienteling tools and CRM data to monitor client lifecycle and propose remediation strategies.
  • Act as the in-store reference for clienteling practices, coaching Sales Advisors on relationship-building.
  • Lead client development briefings and working sessions, cascading global best practices.
  • Mentor Sales Advisors on VIC service standards and personalized communication.
  • Collaborate on workforce planning for key activations and events.
  • Identify training gaps and provide feedback to regional and HQ teams.
  • Propose, orchestrate, and execute a calendar of in-store client initiatives.
  • Define targeted guest lists for events, optimizing for commercial impact and relationship depth.
  • Coordinate logistical and experiential elements of in-store events.
  • Represent the Maison at client entertainment occasions.
  • Collaborate on gifting moments, ensuring brand coherence and personalization.
  • Identify and develop local business providers to introduce new clients.
  • Build and maintain a network of connectors relevant to the boutique market.
  • Propose and pilot local partnership moments that attract the Alaïa client profile.
  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce store-level reporting on VIC and High-End client performance.
  • Analyze client data to surface commercial opportunities.
  • Track activation budgets at store level, ensuring ROI.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in luxury retail, with significant direct selling or client-facing experience.
  • Store experience is non-negotiable.
  • Previous exposure to clienteling or client development responsibilities within a luxury fashion, jewellery, or lifestyle Maison.
  • Demonstrated track record of personal portfolio management and measurable client relationship outcomes.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and comfort with basic data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal intelligence, ability to build trust, and sustain relationships with discernment and warmth.
  • Commercial acumen: understanding the relationship between client cultivation and revenue generation.
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility and deep affinity for Alaïa's brand.
  • Coaching temperament: patient, clear communicator who elevates others.
  • Organized, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple simultaneous client relationships and projects.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • A second language is a significant advantage.
