About the Role

The Lead MST therapist functions as backup to the clinical supervisor, providing support to MST therapists, leading group supervision, and assisting with new therapist training. This role involves managing a small caseload of 4-5 families, conducting assessments, designing interventions, and collaborating with various stakeholders to advocate for families.

Responsibilities

• Function as backup to the clinical supervisor.
• Review case summaries and offer support to MST therapists.
• Lead group supervision and consultation.
• Assist with training new therapists, providing clinical and session support.
• Carry a caseload of 4-5 families, providing in-house family counseling, support, and crisis intervention.
• Conduct MST assessments and adhere to evidence-based clinical counseling modalities.
• Design cognitive behavioral interventions for youth and families.
• Collaborate with stakeholders such as psychiatrists, schools, clinics, DOP, and pro-social programs.
• Advocate for families by attending hospital, court, or probation meetings.
• Participate in weekly group supervision and consultation, as well as individual supervision.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience with an evidence-based treatment model, ideally with MST or an MST adaptation.
• Previous experience with family therapy, or in-home counseling, to youth and their families.
• Flexible work schedule, including some evening and occasional weekend work.
• Ability to handle a high workload and adhere to program deadlines with high-quality written documentation.
• Knowledge and experience in the Juvenile Justice System is a plus.
• Experience in a preventive ACS program is desired.
• Be a team player.
• Have strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients.
• Possess a strong belief in people’s ability to grow and change.

• Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of a practitioner.
• Ability to intervene appropriately.
