About the Role
Provide first-line technical support to end users, escalating complex problems as needed. Administer the technology designers rely on for leading health, education, and business organizations. This IT generalist position requires knowledge of various office IT functions, sourcing answers from vendors, and escalating issues within the IT group.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support for local and remote users, handling level 1, level 2, and level 3 support tickets and troubleshooting.
- Provide application support, configuration, and maintenance for architecture and engineering-specific applications, acting as an application owner between end users, other IT staff, and application vendors.
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets, monitor backup systems, and provide daily reports and file restores.
- Consult with users to determine present and future technology needs.
- Identify areas where end-user equipment requires upgrading.
- Monitor system performance, implement security measures, and perform troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Set up and modify user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access for confidentiality and proper use.
- Test and evaluate hardware and software for efficiency and reliability.
- Attend vendor training and study journals to stay updated on technology changes.
- Maintain network server files by adding and deleting files, and back up files for safety.
- Maintain network-connected peripherals such as printers.
- Create and modify users and groups in Active Directory, including logins and user accounts.
- Add permissions, modify, or delete extensions, mailboxes, and phone systems.
- May require local travel to other sites.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of related IT experience required.
- Strong communication skills and innovative thinking are essential.
- Ability to provide technical software, hardware, and network problem resolutions in a user-friendly professional manner.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple technology issues, and prioritize deadlines.
- Knowledge of MS Windows 7/10/11 desktop, Microsoft Office, and VMWare vSphere required.

Skills
- Microsoft Windows desktop and Server certifications (preferred but not required)
- ITIL knowledge (preferred)
