About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role involves leading feature-level implementation from scoping to delivery, working either independently or as a lead on a small pod. You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Principal Engineers to take projects from requirements to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature-level implementation from scoping to delivery.
• Craft project plans, set timelines, and refine requirements.
• Ensure operational excellence and full SDLC ownership, including migration/rollout paths, observability, metrics, and monitoring.
• Improve team velocity, remove development bottlenecks, and automate processes.
• Apply AI developer tools in daily engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to work directly with stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.
• Ability to turn technical requirements into an iterative development plan with clear goals and timelines.
• Lead a small team to successful, on-time delivery.
• Mindset of operational excellence and full SDLC ownership.
• Attention to DX (Developer Experience).
• Conversational fluency in AWS best practices, enterprise software design patterns, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong coding experience required.
• Professional experience building products with TypeScript, React, NodeJS and MongoDB is preferred.
• 8+ years experience building products in a startup environment is preferred.
• Mobile experience in Expo/React Native or fully native apps is a bonus.
