About the Role
The Financial Risk team is seeking an individual to develop and deliver risk oversight for market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk, with a focus on Europe.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise to the development of the Market Risk oversight framework supporting global and regional regulations.
- Advise on best practice and technical standards for market risk methodologies, including VaR modelling, leverage, and stress testing.
- Ensure Market Risk oversight activities satisfy relevant regional regulatory requirements, including UCITS and AIFMD monitoring and reporting.
- Support the Financial Risk team in modelling complex derivatives for market risk monitoring.
- Support and develop Financial Risk team responsibilities for the Side by Side Risk framework and Risk vs Fees initiative.
- Provide expertise in the ICARA stress testing process and support the Financial Risk team in providing analysis.
- Provide expertise in liquidity risk management good practice within UCITS and other European regulations.
- Partner with the Financial Risk team to develop and support a firmwide Liquidity Risk Management framework meeting firm-wide and regulator specific requirements.
- Support and develop Financial Risk team responsibilities for the Capacity framework.
- Provide expertise to help develop and support a global counterparty risk program and policy.
- Provide expertise to help develop and support the global ESG risk program and policy.
- Provide challenge and escalate risk issues appropriately.
- Provide support and development opportunities to junior team members.
- Represent Financial Risk to clients, fund boards, and internal committees.
- Develop and produce management information and metrics for Board reporting, senior management, and internal oversight committees.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Significant relevant experience in market risk management, credit or counterparty management, and liquidity risk management.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of quantitative measures of market risk.
- Understanding of regulatory rules and regulations related to investment risk, counterparty risk management, ESG risk management and liquidity risk management, particularly in Europe.
- Experience and knowledge of tools to support investment risk management, counterparty risk, and liquidity risk management, particularly MSCI RiskMetrics, LiquidityMetrics and Aladdin.
- Willingness and ability to build, implement, and maintain new processes, and analytical frameworks.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude for improving and streamlining processes where possible and appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills including to Clients, Boards, or Regulators.
- Ability to explain and simplify complex concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, engage and influence partners across the organization, including senior management.
- Must understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
- Must be willing to adhere to the provisions of our Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements, including past political contributions and political activities.
