About the Role

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of the housekeeping department to deliver an exceptional guest experience. You will supervise room attendants and housepersons, conduct quality inspections, manage supplies, and foster a culture of teamwork and outstanding service.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect arrivals, departures, stay-overs, and VIP rooms daily to ensure 100% compliance with brand cleanliness, setup, and amenity standards.
  • Coordinate with the Front Office team via the Property Management System (PMS) to track real-time room statuses and handle guest room updates.
  • Inspect public areas, corridors, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces throughout the shift to maintain property-wide presentation.
  • Identify, document, and submit maintenance work orders for room damages, mechanical issues, or deep-cleaning needs.
  • Lead daily morning shift stand-ups to distribute room assignments, review daily occupancy/VIP counts, and reinforce safety and service standards.
  • Provide real-time coaching, training, and feedback to room attendants and housepersons on proper cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and time-management strategies.
  • Monitor team productivity to ensure rooms are turned efficiently based on daily occupancy and established minutes-per-room metrics.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, accountable workplace culture through clear goal setting and performance tracking.
  • Monitor linen, terry, guest amenity, and chemical inventory levels; assist in conducting monthly physical counts.
  • Organize and secure housekeeping closets and storage areas to ensure supplies are stocked and accessible.
  • Ensure all team members follow proper key-control procedures and safely operate laundry and cleaning equipment.
  • Report any lost-and-found items promptly, ensuring accurate tagging, logging, and secure storage.
  • Respond to guest requests, inquiries, and complaints swiftly and professionally, ensuring rapid resolution and high guest satisfaction.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and workplace safety guidelines regarding chemical handling and bloodborne pathogens.

Requirements

  • Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the property.
  • Previous experience working in a branded hotel is required (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Choice Hotels, Wyndham, Best Western, etc.).
  • 1–2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in hotel housekeeping or guest services preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel occupancy.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift up to 30–50 lbs, and navigate all areas of the property for extended periods.

Skills

  • Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) or hotel management software.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
