About the Role

As an Automotive Technician, you will perform repairs and maintenance work in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards for an excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance work in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.
  • Ensure customers have a world-class service experience at every step along their ownership journey, especially in vehicle repairs.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise to help repair and maintain vehicles to the highest factory and dealership standards.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate technical information regarding customer vehicles to Service Advisors.
  • Comply with all manufacturer standards of quality and timeliness for repairs and maintenance work.
  • Ensure that all estimates and work orders are accurate.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect shop operations, such as handling and disposal of hazardous waste, OSHA, and use of safety and health personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of dealership experience.
  • Genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, with a positive "team-player" attitude.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals in written and online formats.
  • Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience.
  • Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Will primarily work in an automotive shop environment.
  • Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work.
  • May experience loud noise on a regular basis.
  • Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
  • Employee will be standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.
  • Involves repetitive motion.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Work evening, weekend, and holiday work hours as required.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some positions may require applicants to possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to customers and determine how to assist them
  • Brand knowledge is preferred, but not required.
