About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare barista drinks for customers to order in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain the stock of the barista station.
  • Maintain organized and well-prepared work stations.
  • Make coffee/ espresso drinks, juices, smoothies, etc.
  • Stock retail shelves, beverage case, pastry case, and coffee condiment area.
  • Stock ice cream, coffee beans and supplies behind the counter.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the cafe (wiping tables, sweeping, etc.).
  • Operate Point-of-Sale system.
  • Run dish washer and put dishes away.
  • Assist Cooks, as needed, with food prep, assembling sandwiches and salads, plate garnishing, baking, grill and fryer orders.
  • Work with or around knives, equipment with moving blades, open stovetop flames, hot oven, steam, and oil.
  • Serve food to tables.
  • Be informed about all aspects of the food served including providers, ingredients, and available choices.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks in all areas of the Cafe.
  • Be welcoming and prove expedient service to all patrons.
  • Other duties as required by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience working in the food service industry preferred.
  • Timely, reliable and service oriented individual.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.
  • Alignment with Omega's mission, goals and core values.
  • Ability to frequently move items that weigh 30-50lbs for various needs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
  • Ability to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to observe details at close range.
