About the Role

The Department of Chemical Dependency is seeking an adjunct instructor for the Fall 2026 semester to provide high-quality instruction in addiction studies. This role involves teaching remote synchronous courses and requires a commitment to the college's mission, values, and equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent teaching and instruction
  • Create, submit, and follow a syllabus aligned with the Master Course Syllabus
  • Utilize the Learning Management System to provide course materials
  • Maintain availability to students through office hours, timely grading, and responsive communication
  • Adhere to policies outlined in the Teaching Manual
  • Submit all records by deadlines, including progress reports, student concern notices, and grades
  • Enact the mission and values of the college and the equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion plan

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Addiction Studies, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field
  • Nurse Practitioners with a substance abuse specialization will be considered
  • Possession of CASAC credential or ability to obtain one within one year
  • Clinical experience in addiction services or counseling
  • Experience teaching college-level courses
  • Must hold and maintain NYS residency
  • Successful completion of a background check
