About the Role
The Academic Coordinator works with the Director of College Programs to facilitate all matters pertaining to academics and student success. This role serves as a liaison between CareerNext and SUNY Cobleskill, assisting students in a resource room setting with their academic coursework and related needs.
Responsibilities
- Assisting students with academic support for credited coursework
- Prioritizing weekly course assignments
- Conducting weekly grade checks
- Providing campus advocacy
- Teaching students how to utilize their campus accommodations with the disability resource office
- Direct communication with student professors for overall concerns
- Tracking of grades and assignment clarification
- Assisting students with executive functioning skills focusing on time management, prioritization, organizational skills and assignment submission
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
- Masters degree preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new material for the benefit of tutoring alongside student per semester needs
- Demonstrates the importance of working as a team and related communication
