About the Role

The Food Service Worker prepares nutritious meals and snacks for the Peter Claver clients, aiming to minimize the utilization of hospital emergency rooms, crisis services, and other publicly funded health systems by addressing most problems on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to the set menu plan.
  • Maintains cleanliness and ensures safety in the kitchen, dining, and food areas.
  • Maintains organization and stock of the food pantries and refrigerators.
  • Receives and stores food supplies, equipment, and utensils.
  • Trains and oversees volunteers and staff assisting in food preparation and clean up.
  • Serves as an assistant to the Food Service Coordinator, providing shift back up and other support as needed.
  • Prepares reports and documentation as requested.
  • Completes administrative duties when necessary.
  • Monitors kitchen budget in tandem with the Food Service Coordinator.

Requirements
