About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment. This role will complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis, assist in the repair and upkeep of cosmetic materials, and support other areas of Engineering as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis.
• Assist in the repair, maintenance, upkeep, and replacement of the property's cosmetic materials (interior/exterior painting, patching of woodwork and furniture refinishing).
• Assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned.
• Troubleshoot issues and execute repairs promptly.
• Adhere to property guidelines to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of team members and guests.
• Utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Manage guest requests, inquiries, and complaints promptly and completely, ensuring follow-up.
• Carry out regular maintenance tasks and thorough inspections to uphold the operational integrity of hotel systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and monitor inventory of supplies.
• Safely perform highly complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, ensuring all methods, materials, and practices meet company standards and codes.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical equipment, cosmetic items, and electronics.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
• Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, and properly store flammable materials.
• Ensure the work area is clean and clear of hazards.
• Support the setup and dismantling of equipment for hotel events.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
• Perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities, including readings and rounds.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician within the hotel industry.
• Expertise in maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and painting in hotel settings.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting issues and executing repairs promptly.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Physical capability to handle and move heavy equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments.
• Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use, and upkeep of various materials and products.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, stoop, twist, push, pull, and use power and hand tools.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work varying schedules, including holidays and weekends, to reflect business needs.
