About the Role

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will take responsibility for challenging cloud projects for public sector clients. You will guide projects from initial requirements through migration, automation, and stable operation, combining technical implementation, platform development, and customer consulting. You will develop modern cloud solutions with societal impact in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Accompany cloud projects from initial customer requirements to stable operation in the cloud.
• Analyze existing IT landscapes and develop future-proof cloud solutions.
• Design, automate, and operate scalable cloud infrastructures.
• Advise customers, project managers, and development teams on cloud architectures and DevOps best practices.
• Ensure secure operation through monitoring, logging, and security and compliance measures.
• Drive continuous improvement of platforms, processes, and automation.

Requirements

• IT-oriented education, degree, or comparable practical experience.
• Several years of professional experience in building and operating cloud infrastructures.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes or comparable container platforms.
• Knowledge in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Stackit, IONOS Cloud, OpenShift, or OpenStack, as well as openness to cloud-agnostic solution approaches.
• Good understanding of security and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
• Experience in technical consulting of customers or internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to undergo project-dependent security checks (e.g., SÜ2) and work in regulated environments.
• Very good written and spoken German and good written and spoken English skills.
• Willingness to obtain relevant certifications in the cloud and Kubernetes environment (e.g., CKAD, CKA, or CKS).
