About the Role
Harbour Rocks Hotel is seeking passionate Commis Chefs and Cooks to join their re-opening team and help get Tayim's kitchen operational. This role involves preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting senior chefs.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and presenting dishes to a consistent, high standard across assigned section.
- Following recipes, portioning, and plating guides for quality and consistency.
- Setting up, breaking down, and maintaining clean and organised workstations.
- Supporting senior chefs during peak periods and developing skills across different sections.
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and stock rotation.
- Collaborating with the front of house team to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Assisting wherever needed in the kitchen during busy services.
Requirements
- Kitchen experience as a Commis Chef, Cook, or similar section role.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and take direction.
- Calm and organised approach to fast-paced service.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, or willingness to learn.
- Genuine interest in hospitality and hotel openings.
- Ambition to develop skills and progress within the kitchen.
