About the Role

STACK Japan is building out the delivery capability to support our current Data Centre opportunities in Japan. STACK currently owns multiple sites across Japan. Broadly, the projects involve staged construction and handover for use as a Hyperscale Data Centre. The DC Fit-out Manager (Delivery) oversees the planning, design, and implementation of customer specific data center infrastructure projects, focusing on basis of design development and small capital works. This client-facing role requires expertise in translating customer requirements into technical solutions, ensuring projects meet both industry standards and customer expectations while maintaining budget and timeline constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting the development for construction and authority approvals
  • Construction of High voltage electrical switchyard
  • Construction of the base building supporting Data Centre facility
  • Fitout and commissioning of Data Centre facility & supporting plant
  • Construction of administration and office spaces within the Data Centre facility.
  • Installation of customer specific equipment, office, data hall and security installations.
  • Execute phased handovers to support the customer's operational commencement.
  • Consult with stakeholders to gather and document specific requirements for data centre infrastructure projects
  • Lead small to medium-sized capital works projects for varied customer installations within data center facilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement)
  • Coordinate, lead, facilitate and minute, regular progress meetings with customers and provide detailed status reports
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain design standards, specifications, and best practices for the data center data halls and support infrastructure.
  • Review and approve design documents and construction drawings and facilitate regional / local engineering reviews and commentary.
  • Evaluate new technologies and innovations in data center design to improve efficiency, cost improvement and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and internal teams to optimize services design solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies in data centre designs.
  • Present design proposals and project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation for reference and reporting purposes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction, Architecture, Building Services, or a related Built Environment discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience delivering Data Center or other Critical Facility projects, including a minimum of 5 years of project delivery experience in Japan.
  • Extensive experience in Data Center projects, with strong knowledge of hyperscale client requirements or comparable large-scale mission-critical facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and collaborating using 3D Design Tools and BIM methodologies, including the implementation of 4D and 5D design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Project Management platforms such as Procore, Clarizen, or equivalent project management systems.
  • Proficient in project scheduling using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Flexible mindset with the ability to make fair, timely, and fact-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
