Responsibilities
- Work within the Sydney infrastructure team alongside experienced professionals and assist them in various day-to-day tasks.
- Participate in complex financial modeling and highlight key issues for various potential investment opportunities that may be suitable for consideration by CDPQ.
- Collaborate in assessing the valuation of potential investments aligned with CDPQ’s investment strategy, using various methodologies as required (DDM, multiple, etc.).
- Participate in the drafting of papers and supporting documents that will be presented to CDPQ investment committee.
- Participate in the coordination of due diligence workstreams.
- Prepare internal and external reports (transaction tracking, market highlights, ad hoc presentations) in a timely manner.
- Proactively monitor news and gather information from key sources.
- Produce targeted sectoral studies (portfolio companies or potential markets).
- Assist in the management of portfolio companies.
Requirements
- Prior experience in investment banking, project finance, private equity or consulting.
- Dynamic, curious, rigorous with strong analytical abilities and good interpersonal skills.
- Financially numerate with good Microsoft Office skills as well as Bloomberg and Capital IQ.
- Writing and verbal fluency in English and preferably French.
- Australian resident candidates would be preferred, other applicants who already obtained a student pass with the right to work in Sydney for the duration of the internship would be considered.
