About the Role

Practice Managers lead teams of consultants who are subject-matter experts in the implementation of the Charles River Investment Management Solution (CR IMS). They serve as managers of a specialty consulting team and contribute to individual projects as senior subject-matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing to optimize team utilization and expand skillsets.
• Provide career path guidance and partner with recruiting to hire talent.
• Set objectives, evaluate team members, and make promotion recommendations.
• Lead efforts to develop and promote the use of implementation Best Practices.
• Manage team relationships with Product Management to optimize product involvement and feedback.
• Provide a support network for team members during project work.
• Ensure team support for staffing, time & expense processes, technology adoption, and other organizational initiatives.
• Lead the development of domain expertise within the team and foster awareness of emerging business and technical drivers.
• Create or drive forums to share expertise throughout CRD.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert in CRIMS implementation and upgrade projects.
• Analyze and evaluate requirements, providing product expertise and guidance.
• Ensure solutions meet client business needs and clients are prepared for ownership post-go-live.
• Analyze and evaluate client requirements to support sales opportunities.
• Contribute to sales presentations and proof-of-concept projects.
• Educate clients on CRIMS functionality and advise on best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate client requirements to identify potential enhancements.
• Document and communicate product improvements.
• Communicate defects to Technical Support and Product Management to contribute to software quality.

Requirements

• Experience managing investment professionals.
• Experience managing consulting teams is preferred.
• Experience supporting or implementing investment management solutions within a bank, hedge fund, asset manager or wealth management firm.
• Experience with order management and compliance solutions is especially valuable.
• Knowledge of all asset classes including equity, fixed income, and derivatives.
• A strong record of client service, understanding client needs and building effective relationships.
• Ability to work within a team environment and focus on providing high-quality service.
• Team player who shares knowledge and experience openly.
• Mentor less-experienced colleagues while leveraging the expertise of more-experienced colleagues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey plans, issues, and risks clearly and concisely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to decompose complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
• The ability to travel to client sites throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
• The ability to work effectively when remote from clients.
• Travel of 30-50% is typical but may exceed that at any given year.
