About the Role
As an associate consultant in our pensions administration department, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day administration of defined benefit pension schemes for several clients. You will ensure tasks outlined in the "day-to-day running of a client" guide are completed, requiring you to be well-organized with an aptitude for figure work and great attention to detail. The role offers a structured career path and a full training program.
Responsibilities
- Checking and reviewing work done by more junior team members, including method, arithmetic, and approach.
- Developing a full awareness of procedures and ensuring they are followed during work checks.
- Demonstrating good working knowledge of current legislation and awareness of potential impacts on clients.
- Monitoring weekly internal news bulletins for industry and legislative updates.
- Taking ownership for compliance matters and ensuring their correct and timely completion.
- Developing an in-depth understanding of client rules, nuances, and practices, and flagging potential issues.
- Serving as the day-to-day client contact, ensuring client satisfaction with the provided service.
- Taking an interest in the development of junior team members, assisting with work management and delegation.
- Keeping the team leader updated on resourcing and anticipating work peaks.
- Assisting with mentoring junior team members through exams.
- Building in-depth knowledge of the pensions administration database and suggesting/implementing efficiencies.
Requirements
- Demonstrable DB (defined benefit) pensions administration experience within a consultancy environment.
- Making good progress towards the APMI qualification.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage workloads.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
