About the Role

Data scientists at Thoughtworks apply deep knowledge of statistics, modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to make business value and data insights visible, enabling clear and effective decision-making. They are responsible for strategy, implementation, productionization, and articulation of business impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating findings to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with teams/products, crafting data science and machine learning solutions that generate a big impact on customers.
Conduct experiments and develop hypotheses to solve business problems using advanced statistics techniques.
Develop and implement data science strategies that drive measurable business results.
Communicate technical findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear, easy, and concise way.
Interact with clients from diverse domains, addressing their challenging problems.
Contribute to the growth and knowledge sharing within the data science community, focusing on latest tech trends.
Address ethical concerns in data science, including privacy, bias, and fairness, while adhering to ethical guidelines.

Requirements

Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, optimization, and other data science techniques to implement end-to-end data science projects.
Understanding of specialized areas of AI and experience with at least one (e.g., NLP/computer vision/Generative AI).
Experience with R, Python, or equivalent statistical/data analysis tools, writing production-ready code.
Ability to gather and preprocess large volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring data quality and integrity.
Ability to analyze datasets using statistical and visualization techniques to identify patterns, trends, and relationships.
Ability to develop and implement machine learning models, algorithms, and predictive analytics.
Ability to evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and validate models for robustness and reliability.
Ability to interpret and effectively communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Awareness of data privacy regulations and ethical standards when handling sensitive information.
Understanding of stakeholder management and ability to liaise between clients and stakeholders.
Resilience in ambiguous situations and ability to adapt approach to challenges.
Willingness to take on and manage risks and conflicts.
Eagerness to coach, mentor, and motivate others, influencing teammates towards positive action and accountability.
