You will be part of a highly qualified and interdisciplinary leadership team within Vehicle Energy, Motion & Body (VEMB). Together, we shape powerful software products and organizational structures, establish excellent engineering practices, and create the conditions for the successful development, integration, and validation of future vehicle functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and further develop the Tech Operations & Solutions organization with a focus on Operational Excellence, Systems Engineering, Governance, and our products.
  • Define and implement the medium- to long-term strategy for Tech Operations & Solutions in alignment with the VEMB strategy and corporate goals.
  • Ensure high-performing organizational structures, processes, and operating models for the successful development, integration, and delivery of innovative vehicle functions.
  • Establish and continuously develop governance, steering, and collaboration models across all engineering disciplines.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between development, project management, architecture, quality, compliance, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for defining and managing key performance indicators (KPIs), transparency mechanisms, and management reporting to ensure quality, efficiency, and delivery capability.
  • Drive Operational Excellence and the continuous improvement of engineering processes, methods, tools, and organizational structures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality, safety, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements within the organization.
  • Take responsibility for the effective management and integration of external partners, suppliers, and engineering service providers.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and capacities to ensure a sustainable and high-performing organization.
  • Identify and manage strategic, organizational, and technical risks, dependencies, and skill gaps.
  • Develop managers and senior experts, and foster a culture of responsibility, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • Report on strategic initiatives, organizational performance, risks, and progress to management and relevant steering committees.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed university studies or a doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical degree program.
  • More than 10 years of professional experience in complex engineering, technology, or operations organizations, ideally in the automotive sector.
  • At least 8 years of disciplinary leadership experience in complex, international, and cross-functional development or technology organizations, or a CARIAD-recognized leadership license.
  • Demonstrable experience in building and further developing scalable operating and delivery models for software and technology products.
  • In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering, Operational Excellence, Delivery Management, and governance and steering models.
  • Experience with automotive processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, or Cyber Security.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate long-term goals into concrete operational measures and results.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience in collaborating with management, development teams, and external partners.
  • High analytical competence, strong problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic, results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent intercultural competence and experience in international matrix organizations.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
