About the Role
The Director, Global Security APAC+China provides senior leadership for security strategy, operations, and risk management across the Asia‑Pacific region, including China. This role is responsible for protecting employees, assets, products, and information while enabling business growth in complex and diverse markets. The position plays a critical role in shaping regional security strategy, managing geopolitical and operational risks, and partnering closely with regional and global stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure operating environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the APAC and China security strategy in alignment with global security objectives and business priorities.
- Oversee physical security, travel security, crisis management, and incident response across APAC markets.
- Assess and mitigate regional security risks, including geopolitical, operational, and site‑specific threats through intelligence support.
- Serve as the primary security advisor to regional leadership, providing risk insights and strategic guidance.
- Lead and develop regional security teams and external security partners.
- Establish governance, standards, and metrics to ensure consistent security practices across the region.
- Partner with Legal, HR, Supply Chain, IT, and Business leaders to support secure operations and business continuity.
- Manage investigations, executive protection, security incidents, and crisis response activities, including coordination with local authorities when required.
- Support transformation, separation, and change initiatives impacting security operations in APAC and China.
- Manage regional security budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business, Criminal Justice, International Relations, or a related field.
- Typically 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, risk management, or related leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading regional or global security programs, preferably across APAC and China.
- Strong understanding of geopolitical risk, crisis management, and security operations in complex markets.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Experience managing third‑party security providers and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, judgment, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- English proficiency required.
- Up to 25–30% international travel across APAC and China.
