About the Role
The Head of APAC Shareholder Services (SHS) leads the regional function to deliver high-quality, scalable, and risk-controlled shareholder servicing and client trading operations. This role partners with global teams and local stakeholders to drive operational excellence, business continuity, and strategic transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team of operations professionals across APAC.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
- Develop succession plans and ensure operational resilience through cross-training.
- Support employee engagement and talent development initiatives.
- Oversee APAC Shareholder Services and Client Trading activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure operations meet SLAs, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Act as the senior escalation point for operational issues and client concerns.
- Monitor operational capacity, workload distribution, and resource planning.
- Promote a strong risk management culture and embed risk excellence principles.
- Drive reduction of operational errors and control deficiencies.
- Maintain and review documented operating procedures.
- Oversee Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Planning.
- Ensure adherence to FTTOP requirements and global risk standards.
- Lead strategic transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Drive automation and digitization to reduce manual processing.
- Partner with Technology and Global SHS teams on system enhancements and process redesign.
- Establish and monitor operational metrics and KPIs.
- Represent APAC SHS in global governance forums.
- Partner with North America and EMEA leadership to align processes and priorities.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Support new business initiatives and market expansion.
- Promote ethical conduct and embed risk considerations into management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in investment management operations, transfer agency, shareholder services, client trading, or fund operations.
- Proven people leadership experience managing regional or multi-location teams.
- Strong understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, shareholder servicing, and fund operational processes.
- Strong understanding of technology-enabled operating models and operational transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data and analytics for decision-making.
- Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or RPA initiatives.
- Experience managing operational risk, controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience leading operational transformation and automation initiatives.
