About the Role
Adjunct faculty members facilitate learning, support student development, and uphold the educational mission and policies of the institution. They are expected to maintain current knowledge in their field and foster a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Create an environment that facilitates student learning and achievement of desired outcomes in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
- Understand and support the educational environment, resources, policies, mission, and cultural practices of the College/Institution.
- Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Maintain on-time attendance and teach the full allotted time for all assigned classes, clinicals, or labs.
- Follow the course syllabus, content outline, class schedule, and textbook requirements.
- Be available to advise students.
- Attend all-hands and faculty meetings as required.
- Submit final grades by the last day of each term.
- Submit attendance and grades weekly.
- Undertake other assignments as requested by the Academic Leadership Team.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Master's degree with 15 semester credit hours in the discipline.
- Current knowledge in the area of responsibility.
- Commitment to teaching and helping students develop an interest in education.
- Ability to maintain rapport with colleagues and students.
- Conduct oneself with a high level of professionalism.
- Documented knowledge of education and instructional delivery.
- Documented knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, students, and the Academic Leadership Team.
