About the Role

As Manager, Personal Banking Credit Strategy, you are primarily responsible for developing credit strategies using advanced analytics for a Retail Banking credit product. You will improve profitability by recommending solutions that balance risk, reward, operational efficiency, and customer impact, while supporting business growth targets and maintaining portfolio quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Manager in designing credit strategies covering a retail banking product, including targeting criteria, adjudication and exposure management.
  • Ensure adequacy of risk and return as well as regulatory and internal compliance through comprehensive data analysis and predictive financial and credit modeling.
  • Present analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management in Group Risk Management, Product teams, and Collections.
  • Propose new strategies designed to help achieve business targets and obtain approval of credit strategies with concise rationale supported by comprehensive analysis and documentation.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities, and drive initiatives that will enhance strategy and portfolio performance or improve existing processes.
  • Develop and manage performance monitoring and reporting for relevant strategies and customer segments to enable actionable insight for key stakeholders.
  • Support new strategy development with advanced analytics and data science.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders across business, operations, and other GRM teams.
  • Monitor changes in portfolio risk to pre-empt stress to Collections.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience performing advanced analytics or data science, ideally for credit lending or deposit products.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of data querying and related tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, Excel, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create and articulate a compelling business case to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • MBA and/or Undergraduate degree in Economics, Business, Statistics or other quantitative field of study.
  • Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of risk management, credit strategy, and analytics (Nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of Personal banking products (Nice-to-have).
