About the Role

The AI Security Institute is the world's largest and best-funded team dedicated to understanding advanced AI risks and translating that knowledge into action. We’re in the heart of the UK government with direct lines to No. 10 (the Prime Minister's office), and we work with frontier developers and governments globally. The Red Team conducts cutting-edge research to identify, evaluate and stress test vulnerabilities in frontier AI systems, sharing our findings directly with leading AI companies, UK officials and allied governments. The Delivery function is what makes scaling our impact possible. As a Delivery Advisor on the Red Team, you will own several operational domains end-to-end and shape how the team runs as it grows. This is a high-agency role: you will be trusted to run whole workstreams with minimal oversight, hold relationships with external partners directly, and be a founding builder of a function we're deliberately keeping small and high-leverage.

Responsibilities

  • Own commercial delivery end-to-end, including strategy, project scoping, procurement, contract management, and dissemination.
  • Manage the Red Team's engagement process, acting as the point of contact for inbound commissions and producing briefing materials.
  • Drive proactive dissemination of the team's results through memos, decks, and rapid briefs.
  • Run team operations, including project-management tooling, workflows, and continuous improvement of internal processes.
  • Support research delivery on the 'last mile', managing the process from research to publication, including reviews, clearances, and smooth release.
  • Build people operations, including hiring, development, and well-being practices.
  • Lead a No.10 presentation end-to-end, coordinating content, logistics, and senior decision-maker engagement.
  • Drive national security mobilization by mapping stakeholders, building relationships, and disseminating research insights.
  • Take full ownership of a ~£1.5M external commercial budget, managing outreach, contract negotiation, and deliverable dissemination.
  • Build the hiring pipeline end-to-end to scale the team, defining role-specific processes.
  • Build and own Linear and automated workflows for recurring workstreams, event logistics, and team socials.

Requirements

  • A couple of years in a fast-paced environment (consulting, startup, or similar) with experience owning things end-to-end, building from scratch, or taking on responsibility quickly.
  • Agency: take responsibility for outcomes, get things done without close direction, proactively surface and resolve issues, and finish what you start.
  • Ownership at pace: run projects, workstreams, or operational domains end-to-end, managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations at speed.
  • Communication: communicate proactively and exceptionally well, adapting to expert or non-expert audiences, and represent the team while holding relationships directly.
  • Commercial judgement: experience scoping work, managing contracts or vendors, and optimizing for outcome quality against cost.
  • Credibility through service: earn trust by making technical colleagues' lives easier.
  • Adaptability: comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, and able to work out a sensible path forward when things are unclear.
  • Builder mindset: look for ways to simplify, automate, or remove repetitive work, using AI tools and automation.
  • Technical curiosity: engage readily with technical detail, ask good questions of engineers and researchers, and build context for informed decisions.
  • Must undergo a criminal record check and get baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) clearance.
  • Strong preference for eligibility for counter-terrorist check (CTC) clearance.
