About the Role

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Consumer Underwriting Crew, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient solutions using .NET/.NET Core and AWS. You will drive architecture and technical design for cloud-native platforms, own solutions end-to-end, partner with stakeholders to shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and champion DevSecOps and AI-powered development practices.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure and resilient solutions using .NET/.NET Core and AWS.
Drive architecture and technical design for cloud-native platforms supporting our Consumer Underwriting capabilities.
Own solutions end-to-end—from design and development through to deployment, production support and continuous improvement.
Partner with Product Owners, Architects and Engineering Leads to shape technical direction and platform strategy.
Mentor engineers, raise engineering standards and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Champion DevSecOps, automation and engineering best practices.
Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to improve software quality, developer productivity and delivery outcomes.

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using .NET/.NET Core and C#.
Strong solution architecture and system design capability, with experience building scalable distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud-native application development.
Experience designing secure APIs, event-driven architectures and highly available enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and modern software engineering practices.
Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and delivering business outcomes end-to-end.
A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across multiple teams.
Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or similar to accelerate software delivery.
