About the Role
As an Accountant / Financial Accountant (m/f/d), you will play a central role in our accounting department. You will independently manage daily operational accounting processes, actively participate in HGB financial statements, and help us further develop our digital financial structures. You will gain in-depth knowledge of exciting international issues, including cross-border EU transactions, reverse charge procedures, and future EPR reporting obligations, building valuable expertise in international tax law and actively shaping our global finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain accounts payable and receivable, review credit card payments and travel expenses, and manage other document and invoice processing, ensuring complete and timely document recording.
- Prepare payment runs and perform regular account reconciliation and clarification.
- Conduct preparatory accounting in close collaboration with tax advisors.
- Serve as the central point of contact between accounting and operational departments, ensuring compliance with accounting-relevant processes (e.g., invoice approval, document submission).
- Support internal monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements according to HGB.
- Participate in designing digital workflows and implementing accounting and document management tools.
- Manage the dunning process and communicate with suppliers and customers.
- Digitize and archive documents in a structured manner within the document management systems used.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in a commercial field, ideally as a tax assistant or financial accountant.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience with foundational accounting knowledge.
- Practical experience in assisting with accounting inventory and inventory valuation is ideal.
- Proficient in using DATEV (e.g., Unternehmen online) and standard MS Office applications (especially Excel); experience with tools like Spendesk is a plus.
- High sense of responsibility and a strong hands-on mentality.
- Strong communication skills and a confident, reliable demeanor, including with colleagues outside of accounting, able to request adherence to deadlines and processes in a friendly yet firm manner.
- Structured, independent work style with a high degree of accuracy.
- Discretion in handling sensitive financial data is essential.
- Very good German and good English language skills, both written and spoken.
