About the Role

Be integral to delivering a range of construction, engineering and maintenance services ensuring a safe and reliable network, and keeping customers connected and on the move. You will perform major periodic and regular routine maintenance on mechanical signal assets, carry out upgrades, renewals, inspections and corrections. You will play a key role in connecting communities and contributing to a climate-smart, efficient, and economically beneficial transport system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major periodic and regular routine maintenance on mechanical signal assets.
  • Carry out upgrades, renewals, inspections and corrections.
  • Support the network by working nights, weekends and overtime.
  • Be available for on-call duties.
  • Live away from home if required.

Requirements

  • Hold a licence to practice as a Signals Mechanical worker (Sectioner).
  • Experience working in a safety-focused construction or maintenance environment.
  • Ability to undertake manual work and work with technical and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to follow technical work-related instructions.
  • Hold a current unrestricted class C driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to drive a small truck, 4WD or ute.
  • Take health and safety seriously.
  • Be passionate about being part of a team that delivers impactful health and safety outcomes.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • Be able to collaborate with others.
  • May have aspirations to become a future leader, learn new skills, gain qualifications and progress career.
