Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain fit-for-purpose portfolio test strategies and test plans across platforms, programs, and delivery streams, ensuring they address inherent delivery, technology, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Lead and support test planning and execution across portfolio capabilities, including integration platforms, data platforms, APIs, enterprise systems, and cross-platform dependencies.
- Oversee specialist testing disciplines across the portfolio, including non-functional testing, security testing, automated regression, performance assurance, and alignment with DevSecOps practices.
- Facilitate metrics and data-driven reporting on software quality, delivery readiness, defect trends, automation coverage, environment stability, and adherence to agreed test strategies.
- Help senior stakeholders interpret quality metrics and measures, providing clear recommendations and articulating risks, trade-offs, and delivery impacts based on evidence.
- Continually monitor, report, and manage new or changing risks that may impact portfolio test strategy, execution, release readiness, or operational resilience.
- Contribute to ASX Quality Engineering and Testing capability practice metrics and reporting, measuring alignment to enterprise standards and the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and continually improve a mature, contemporary portfolio test capability by uplifting automation, service virtualization, test data, regression coverage, and quality engineering practices.
- Communicate effectively with Application Support Managers, Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Delivery Managers, BA Managers, Development Leads, Test Managers, Product Owners, and Business Operations representatives.
- Lead diverse teams to high performance by setting clear expectations, building capability, encouraging ownership, and fostering collaboration across technology and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15+ years’ experience in quality engineering and test management across large, complex, and regulated technology portfolios, preferably within financial services.
- Proven experience defining and leading end-to-end test strategies, test planning, governance, and execution across multiple platforms, programs, and delivery streams.
- Strong expertise in test delivery management, automation uplift, defect governance, release readiness assessment, and quality reporting across waterfall, agile, and DevSecOps delivery models.
- Demonstrated capability in establishing and maturing portfolio-level test governance, standards, metrics, risk management, and continuous improvement practices.
- Solid understanding of modern engineering practices, cloud platforms, data platforms, integration technologies, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and non-functional testing disciplines.
- Experience leading test teams, managing capability uplift, and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple Lines of Business, technology groups, and delivery partners.
- Comfortable presenting portfolio quality insights, risks, recommendations, and delivery confidence to senior executives and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Experience implementing AI-based test automation solutions for Integration Platforms, including intelligent test case generation, self-healing automation, automated regression optimisation, and risk-based test selection.
- Hands-on experience applying AI-assisted automation to Confluent Kafka and integration technologies, including event-driven testing, message validation, schema compatibility, data flow assurance, API testing, and end-to-end integration regression.
- Awareness of latest industry innovations in test automation, including generative AI, agentic testing, model-based testing, synthetic test data generation, service virtualisation, contract testing, and CI/CD-integrated quality gates.
- Passionate about driving innovation in quality engineering by adopting modern automation frameworks, AI-enabled tooling, observability-led testing, and continuous improvement practices to uplift Integration Platform test maturity.
- Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without any restrictions.
