About the Role

Join a team responsible for creating and maintaining infrastructure, ensuring habitats and surroundings are beautiful for the future. Become a steward of the council environment in a modern organization making a tangible difference.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a broad range of concrete construction and maintenance works on Council's infrastructure assets, including excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement, finishing, and associated civil works.
  • Perform truck driving and carry out other duties as directed by the Coordinator Maintenance Delivery.
  • Ensure the safe operation, routine maintenance, and care of plant, vehicles, and equipment used in concrete construction and maintenance activities.
  • Complete all works safely, efficiently, and to a high standard in accordance with Council policies, procedures, specifications, and Work Health and Safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths and drainage infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of excavator, loader grader and skid steer (advantageous).
  • HR license is essential.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining plant/equipment associated with civil construction.
  • Minimum blue traffic controller’s ticket is required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to identify hazards and take appropriate action.
  • Experience operating and maintaining plant and equipment associated with civil construction works.
  • Demonstrated experience operating excavators, loaders and skid steer machinery (highly regarded).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions to achieve operational outcomes.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Required to obtain a National Police Check.
  • May be required to undergo a pre-employment medical check.

Experience Level

Salary/Compensations

  • $76,034 - $83,067 + Super
