About the Role
This position will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, optimizing processes, and delivering insights that shape business decisions within Columbia Sportswear Company's Finance & Accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with US/Local GAAP and reporting schedule.
- Oversee monthly invoice processing and expense reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely close.
- Manage Direct AP matching process (merchandise related invoices, purchase orders and goods receipt).
- Lead expense accrual processes ensuring accurate period-end recognition.
- Support cash management activities and payment executions.
- Day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Continuously improve accounting workflows and systems for greater efficiency.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or above.
- 3-5 years or more experience in accounting.
- Experience with SAP and Rakuraku Seisan is a plus.
- Innovative, flexible, and excellent interpersonal skill.
- Knowledge and experience of accounting principles and Excel.
- Good communication skills in both Japanese and English.
