About the Role
The Global Lending Foundations team is building a platform to revolutionize how lending decisions are designed, built, and rolled out across new geographies. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a senior technical leader defining the long-horizon technical direction for scaling lending platforms globally and shaping how future lending products are built.
Responsibilities
- Owning the architectural vision for Lending Foundations, defining and evolving the platform architecture.
- Designing and scaling shared platform capabilities, including core services and decisioning primitives.
- Leading cross-team architectural initiatives to drive alignment on technical choices.
- Evolving event-oriented architectures, applying CQRS and event-driven patterns.
- Partnering with product and business leadership to translate business goals into platform capabilities.
- Multiplying senior engineering talent through mentorship and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a senior/staff-level engineer designing and evolving complex distributed systems or platform layers.
- Deep experience with event-oriented architectures (e.g., CQRS, event sourcing, streaming).
- Strong background in at least one functional or JVM-based stack.
- Proven track record owning architectural vision for large domains or platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to drive alignment on hard architectural decisions across multiple squads and stakeholders.
- Experience acting as a platform-oriented engineer, with other engineering and product teams as primary customers.
- Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts and influence decisions.
