About the Role

HRPA is seeking a creative and versatile Designer & Web Specialist to join their Marketing & Growth team. This new role will elevate HRPA's visual identity and digital presence, shaping how the brand evolves and improving digital experiences for over 25,000 members and students.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and produce visual assets for digital and print channels, including social media, email, web, advertising, events, presentations, infographics and brochures.
  • Maintain and update HRPA’s website, create new pages and campaign landing pages, and ensure content remains accurate, visually consistent and easy to navigate.
  • Incorporate inclusive design principles and ensure web and creative materials align with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards, HRPA’s IDEA strategy and organizational brand guidelines.
  • Serve as an in-house resource for creative and brand guidance, helping ensure a consistent and professional visual identity across internal and external communications.
  • Develop and maintain templates, style guides and asset libraries that enable teams across HRPA to create consistent, on-brand materials.
  • Work closely with colleagues across marketing, content, social media and email to bring integrated campaigns to life across multiple channels.
  • Conduct website quality reviews, apply SEO best practices and recommend improvements to visual design, navigation and user experience.
  • Support video, short-form social content, animation and motion graphics as required while bringing forward new ideas, tools and design approaches.

Requirements

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, web design, fine arts, digital media or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, web design, or a related creative role.
  • Demonstrated experience producing creative assets for digital, print, social media, email and web.
  • Experience maintaining websites through a content management system such as WordPress, Sitefinity, or Drupal.
  • Experience designing for accessibility standards, including AODA and WCAG compliance.
  • Experience applying and maintaining brand guidelines across varied materials and channels.
  • Experience in a marketing team, agency, association, or not-for-profit environment is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, along with a strong understanding of typography, color, composition and layout.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS for webpage editing and email template customization.
  • Familiarity with video editing or motion graphics tools such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects or Canva is an asset.
  • Able to translate briefs, ideas and business objectives into engaging visual solutions tailored to the audience and channel.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple creative projects and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Comfortable presenting creative recommendations, receiving feedback and explaining design decisions to colleagues from non-design backgrounds.
  • A portfolio demonstrating creativity, versatility, technical skill and attention to detail is required with your application.
