About the Role
BJAK is developing a Neobank Superapp for Southeast Asia. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, roadmap, and technical design. You will navigate complex constraints such as licensing, compliance, and third-party financial rails while leveraging AI to build reliable, auditable, and trusted financial products.
Responsibilities
- Own a product vertical end-to-end, including outcomes, metrics, and prioritized backlogs.
- Collaborate with engineering to shape technical designs, focusing on system boundaries, money-movement correctness, and scalability.
- Make and defend difficult trade-offs regarding correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience.
- Integrate regulated constraints such as licensing, KYC, transaction monitoring, and data privacy into product development.
- Define the application of AI, ensuring human oversight and clear evaluation metrics for all AI-surfaced data.
- Manage product delivery against external regulatory and partner gates.
- Coordinate across engineering, design, compliance, operations, treasury, and finance teams.
Requirements
- Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end.
- Strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.
- Ability to balance product ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational realities.
- Solid understanding of system design, including datastores, APIs, and failure modes.
- Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain such as payments, banking, or insurance.
- Hands-on experience with LLM-based products and evaluation frameworks.
- Must be based in Japan.
- Strong English communication skills.
