About the Role

BJAK is building a Neobank Superapp for Southeast Asia. As a Technical Product Manager, you will own a product vertical end-to-end, from strategy and roadmap to technical design and delivery. This role involves managing products where real money moves, requiring strict attention to licensing, compliance, and third-party integrations. The position is AI-native, focusing on leveraging AI to genuinely improve outcomes while maintaining reliability, auditability, and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Own a vertical end-to-end, including outcomes, metrics, and a prioritized backlog.
  • Shape technical design with engineering, focusing on system boundaries, money-movement correctness, third-party rail behavior, and failure handling.
  • Make and defend hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience.
  • Treat regulated constraints as first-class product inputs, understanding launch gates and forward-readiness.
  • Apply AI where it enhances outcomes, defining its decision-making scope, human-in-the-loop requirements, and evaluation methods.
  • Ship features against external gates, coordinating with partners and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance/Reconciliation teams.

Requirements

  • Significant experience owning a complex technical product end-to-end.
  • Strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.
  • Ability to balance ambition with technical, regulatory, and operational realities.
  • Capacity to hold discussions with senior engineers.
  • Solid system design understanding, including boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, and concurrency.
  • Comfort reading, reviewing, and challenging design documents.
  • Ability to sketch an architecture and a sequence diagram.
  • Technical proficiency sufficient for engineers not to need to simplify explanations.
  • Experience in a regulated or high-consequence domain (payments, banking, remittance, insurance) or demonstrable fast-ramp ability.
  • Understanding of the unique aspects of money movement, including correctness over convenience, irreversible states, and managing external partners.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based products.
  • Ability to frame features as evaluable (offline, online, human feedback).
  • Realistic understanding of hallucination, drift, and data gaps, including when a model should not be in the loop.
