About the Role
The Platform Engineering team builds and operates core platform services, supporting development teams and managing key organizational capabilities. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will shape how Nine leverages AWS and GCP at scale, driving platform excellence and enterprise stability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and govern cloud environments across AWS and GCP using enterprise governance tools.
- Develop and maintain modular, scalable infrastructure using IaC frameworks like Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Oversee core shared platform services, including CDNs, databases, and platform infrastructure.
- Manage enterprise-wide security and administration tooling.
- Monitor system performance and security, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and participate in on-call rotation.
- Create architectural design specs and operational documentation, managing work in Jira.
- Collaborate with platform engineering teams and enterprise stakeholders to align on goals and execute initiatives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in platform engineering or cloud infrastructure management.
- Experience with AWS and GCP core services (compute, storage, networking, security).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, particularly Terraform.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools.
- Hands-on scripting or coding experience in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrable record of strong communication skills and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have the right to lawfully work and live in Australia.
