About the Role

The Secondary French Teacher at Reddam House plays a pivotal role in guiding students from Year 7 to Year 12 through their critical educational journey. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction in one or more subjects aligned with the NESA curriculum. This position is a 0.7 position (over 4 days) and will be a permanent part time position. As the school is growing, the role could become full time in 2028. We are seeking an exceptional French Teacher with a passion for education, dedication, creativity, and outstanding experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver lessons that inspire and challenge all students in line with the school's curriculum, policies, and external assessment requirements.
Individualise and differentiate learning to ensure each student is stretched, supported, and makes outstanding progress.
Regularly assess students' in-class and at-home learning, providing targeted feedback to drive progress.
Establish a classroom and school environment where students are invested in each other's flourishing, feel valued and supported, and are ready to take risks in their learning.
Work closely with colleagues as an active member of our learning community, sharing best practices and collaborating.
Dedicate yourself to your own professional development to ensure the highest standard of education.
Play an active role in the school's co-curricular programme, helping to create a well-rounded, enriching educational experience.
Maintain open and constructive communication with parents, building strong partnerships that support students' progress.

Requirements

Proven experience teaching at the secondary level with a solid grasp of NESA curriculum requirements.
Skilled in one or more Key Learning Areas, with the ability to engage students across diverse learning needs.
Strong classroom management focused on fostering a positive, disciplined environment.
Proficient in student assessment and progress reporting.
Experienced in planning and supervising school events and activities.
Competent in using educational technologies and creative teaching strategies to enrich learning.
Passionate about education and committed to the holistic development of students from Years 7–12.
Creative and inspiring teaching style that motivates learners.
Patient, empathetic, and supportive of students’ emotional and social well-being.
Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
Collaborative team player who communicates effectively with staff, parents, and stakeholders.
Resilient and adaptable in dynamic educational settings.
Valid Working with Children Check.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
Willingness to assist with lunch/playground supervision and student drop-off/pick-up duties.
Availability to attend school events outside regular hours (e.g., performances, parent meetings).
