About the Role
As an Accounting Manager Consultant at Bridgepoint, you will be a valuable part of our client delivery team, helping growing companies achieve success in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Interact with BPC members in Financial Operations and other practice areas to coordinate excellent delivery.
- Assist with reconciliations, month-end reporting, preparing clients for audit, cleaning up their books, and assisting their department with integration of merger and acquisition data.
- Interact directly with the client contact (CFO, Controller) and their staff.
- Provide project status updates, feedback, and thoughtful insights into client challenges for your delivery manager.
- Embrace flexibility and take on tasks and assignments that may be out of your comfort zone.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience.
- B.A. or B.S. required, Accounting or Finance degrees are a plus.
- Strong desire for consulting-style work and delivering excellent customer service.
- Industry experience in start-ups, technology, software, oilfield services, insurance and Big Four/public accounting is highly preferred.
- Experience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- Recent hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Great Plains or Intacct), along with moderate to advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to adapt to various client environments, and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
- Demonstration of a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, experience researching technical GAAP issues.
- Past experience working in small to mid-sized company environment with the ability to multi-task and wear several hats.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- Prior employment by a Big Four or other nationally recognized accounting firms.
- Industry experience in emerging growth, technology, and SaaS companies.
- Revenue Recognition highly preferred.
