About the Role

A Driver is responsible for the safe operation of DeCrescente Distributing Company vehicles, ensuring adherence to all company and safety policies. The role emphasizes providing superior customer service during daily deliveries and related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily delivery of all customer-purchased product to assigned accounts.
  • Picks up all empty cases and/or kegs at respective stops daily.
  • Ensures adherence to all safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate order fulfillment and collection of payments and/or signatures.
  • Ensures proper rotation of product with every delivery.
  • May be responsible for merchandising duties including stocking, display construction, and product pricing.
  • Obeys all Federal, State, and Local DOT laws and provisions while operating a company vehicle.
  • Coordinates and communicates with sales and merchandising staff as needed.
  • Communicates all problems (customer service issues, vehicle problems, safety concerns) to immediate supervisor promptly.
  • Responsible for the communication and documentation of all accidents, incidents, and injuries.
  • Ensures fleet housekeeping is performed to standard.
  • Demonstrates the ability to evaluate problems and generate solutions.
  • Able to complete tasks within the committed timeframe.
  • Able to adapt to changes and demonstrate flexibility to overcome obstacles.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Follows all guidelines in the Driver’s Training Manual.
  • Works safely and follows all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Notifies Safety Officer, Supervisor, and Human Resources immediately for all on-the-job accidents or injuries.

Requirements

  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed.
  • Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voice mail, text messaging or e-mail messages are not acceptable replacements.
  • Required to wear company-issued apparel and personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible use and maintenance of company-issued equipment.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Subject to a pre-employment work physical and background check.

Skills

  • Class A License
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 165lbs. with/without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, reach, balance, grasp.

Experience Level

  • 1-3 years of Driver experience
