About the Role
This internship is for individuals seeking to work on impactful problems involving real robots and contributing to active research in world models, policy training, and evaluation. Interns will embed directly with the technical team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to training runs by working alongside founding engineers on world model or eval model experiments end-to-end.
- Run real-robot evaluations, including collecting demonstration data, executing policies on physical hardware, and documenting failure modes.
- Build tooling by writing Python and PyTorch code to enhance data engines, training pipelines, or evaluation infrastructure.
- Close the sim-to-real gap by conducting experiments that assess the predictive accuracy of simulation against real-robot behavior.
Requirements
- Strong coding proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
- Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience training or fine-tuning a generative model, VLM, or policy (coursework or research is acceptable).
- Ability to work in-person in San Francisco.
