About the Role

Caring Transitions of Great Neck assists elderly clients and their families with significant life transitions, including downsizing, relocating, and clearing out homes. The role involves managing relocations, conducting auctions and estate sales, and performing compassionate clean-outs for clients in Great Neck, Queens, and surrounding areas. This is an opportunity to make extra money while helping others, with no consistent work schedule required.

Responsibilities

Sorting and organizing client’s household belongings for packing, moving, selling, donation or disposal.
Online auction or estate sale preparation and setup.
Packing/boxing household items to be moved.
Unpacking and resettling clients in their new home.
Moving supplies/boxes within the customers’ homes.
Light cleaning including sweeping and vacuuming.
Interacting with customers and their families.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and own reliable transportation.
Must be comfortable driving in the NYC boroughs, and parallel parking.
Must agree to background and driving record checks.
Excellent attention to detail.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Must be able to safely and repeatedly lift up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
Must have a smartphone for scheduling, time-keeping, project management and processing auction items.
Patience, empathy and compassion.
Maturity and life experience.
Comfortable speaking with people.
Self-motivation and willingness to learn.
