About the Role
Join Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital’s team of caregivers that provide top-quality patient care to the Port St. Lucie area. This state-of-the-art acute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers a wide variety of services. The Telemetry/Neurology Unit specializes in the monitoring of various neurological conditions and diagnoses, often for post-stroke patients. As an RN on this team, you will assist in delivering exceptional care, interact directly with patients and families, and enhance their experience. The Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families, considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross – if you do not hold this certification, you will need to obtain it within one year of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification – if you do not hold this certification, you will need to obtain it within 30 days of hire
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
