About the Role

Harbor Health is seeking skilled Administrative Medical Assistants to join our multi-specialty clinic group in Austin, TX. You will play a critical role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate, member-centered care that aligns with our mission of transforming healthcare through our payvider model.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally
  • Prepare patients for appointments and provide relevant visit information
  • Communicate services and manage schedule delays
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception and waiting areas
  • Obtain and document insurance cards, licenses, authorizations, and referrals in the EMR
  • Perform demographic and insurance validation
  • Schedule appointments and follow-ups
  • Collect co-payments and reconcile charges daily
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to execute provider-ordered tasks
  • Deliver care according to individualized care plans
  • Perform client intake, collect lab specimens, and administer immunizations
  • Chart accurately in electronic health records
  • Assist with minor procedures and clinical support functions
  • Complete daily opening and closing clinic tasks
  • Support the care team to ensure member needs are met

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to renew/apply for certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or similar clinical environment
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Computer proficiency with EHR systems
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
