About the Role
The Administrator directs and integrates all day-to-day activities of the SNARL/EALR, overseeing operations in accordance with the organization's mission and objectives. The role emphasizes maintaining the highest possible standard of care, focusing on maximizing resident health and wellness, and ensuring efficient, effective operations compliant with all Federal and State rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop policies and procedures for the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR.
- Oversee the operation of the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR, implementing established policies.
- Serve as a liaison among team members and all departments of the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR, providing on-call coverage.
- Organize departmental functions and delegate duties, establishing accountability.
- Oversee new construction projects, maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, and review the physical condition of the facility.
- Assist the VP of Senior Housing Services with budget development.
- Handle sales inquiries for admittance to the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR and conduct tours for interested individuals.
- Conduct public relations programs, such as speaking engagements, to develop public interest and goodwill.
- Serve as a central source of information for individuals interested in the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR.
- Meet with residents to interpret policies and procedures and address concerns to maintain good resident relations.
- Represent the facility and promote good public relations in all matters related to the ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR.
- Maintain and update all requirements set forth by the DOH.
- Obtain and maintain certifications with the DOH as an ACF/ALR/SNALR/EALR Administrator.
- Consult, support, and advise on issues relating to all operations of the ACF.
- Assist residents in establishing and retaining a personal physician.
- Coordinate medical appointments and referrals, including transportation if needed.
- Schedule and ensure annual resident medical evaluations are completed.
- Maintain rapport with resident physicians to ensure their needs are met.
- Ascertain the need for additional or modified services.
- Assume primary responsibility for the medications management service, ensuring compliance with DOH guidelines.
- Order prescribed medications from pharmacies upon request and maintain a log of receipt.
- Interview, hire, and discipline resident companion team members as needed.
- Complete performance evaluations through job skill review, observation of resident care, and evaluation of resident outcomes.
- Complete team member scheduling, considering resident care needs and team member requests.
- Inform Administration of staffing needs.
- Document care and services provided to residents in their health records.
- Prepare reports as requested.
- Complete necessary forms and provide pertinent information for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide emotional support and maintain rapport with residents and their families.
- Communicate pertinent information to residents, families, and medical care providers with clarity, compassion, and diplomacy.
- Promptly inform the VP of Senior Housing Services of all serious problems or changes in resident condition.
- Ensure compliance with Cottage's safety and cleanliness standards and policies.
- Attend resident care plan meetings.
- Attend QAPI meetings quarterly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to the requirements of the Lutheran Care Ministries Network Safety Program.
- Ensure all departments' employees are trained in department-specific requirements in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Direct and assist in the Home Health Aide Training Program.
- Oversee planning and coordination of all in-service programs as required by regulations and present in-services as needed.
- Be 'on-call' at all times.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
- Two years of related work experience acceptable to the department.
- One year of related supervisory experience.
