About the Role
The Works is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our front of house team in Latham, NY. This role involves customer service, food preparation, and maintaining a clean environment. Opportunities for advancement and leadership development are available.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and serving customers
- Handling cash transactions
- Preparing handcrafted smoothies, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, entrées, salads, soups, and more
- Maintaining a clean and organized café
- Overseeing daily administrative requirements including cash handling (Shift Leader)
- Adhering to operational and service standards (Shift Leader)
- Developing staff through feedback (Shift Leader)
- Leading, directing, and guiding others (Shift Leader)
Requirements
- Prior food preparation experience preferred
- Great communication skills
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently between tasks
- Neat appearance
- Organized and punctual
- Ability to stay cool and calm in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of 8 +/- hours each shift
- Ability to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects repeatedly during a shift
