About the Role
Join a dynamic and supportive team as an Infrastructure Worker Traction, delivering the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead traction power equipment that keeps Sydney’s rail network moving safely and reliably. This role is equivalent to positions commonly known in the industry as a Lineworker, Overhead Lineperson (OHL), or Power Line Worker, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced electrical distribution and overhead line professionals looking to transition into the rail industry. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of 1500V DC traction systems, as well as high and low voltage AC aerial lines, carrying out major periodic maintenance, routine inspections, fault finding, repairs, and corrective works.

- Carrying out major periodic maintenance, routine inspections, fault finding, repairs, and corrective works
Requirements
- High level of safety awareness and role model good safety behaviours
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, ability to problem-solve, and technical knowledge and experience
- Head for heights
- Understanding and proficiency of all types of traction overhead line construction, associated accessories, plant and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Adaptability to change, enjoyment of embracing new technology, and willingness to learn and share new ideas and skills
- Current full NSW Class C driver’s licence
- Comfortable driving large vehicles and/or UTEs
- Ability to work shift-based roles in a 24/7 environment
- Willingness to work night shift, weekend work, overtime, and on-call availability
- Willingness to live away from home if required
